What with holidays, work, domestic stuff I have not been around here as much as previous
During that period it appears the the clown Nordveit has assumed cult status and Calleri is now worthy of a bid
Well I have not changed my opinion mate from the initial 20 minutes viewing of the Norwegian coat stand. Neither Calleri - both abject and beyond any footballing redemption.
Nordveit has no pace, the turning circle of a bus, can't tackle and his positional play is dire. Calleri is just fucking rank on all fronts and frankly, life is too short to start listing his failings.
Why on Earth Bilic insists upon using either is beyond all logic and brings his judgement to near terminal question.

Must confess I have been backing this fella and was really pleased with his contribution since his return to the side, but he was shite yesterday - looked like he wasn't remotely interested a lot of the time. Maybe he knows he's leaving. But even if that is true, you would think he would want to put himself in the shop window. Or if he's staying he would want to put himself in the manager's plans. Disappointing.

I don't think Collins is showing a lack of effort there - he just gets completely wrong-footed (he's off-screen in this clip when that happens) and there's fuck all he can do after.

He can obviously play but not at the breakneck speeds the PL is played at. Otherwise he's not a bad player for a less competitive league.

He was as culpable as anyone in that collapse yesterday. Horrific contribution to at least two of the goals. On the other hand, he pinged at least 3 beautiful raking passes in the first half. Actually ended up with a 94% pass completion despite us barely putting any possession together.
I think the lesson is how to play him. Do not expose him in a short-handed midfield. Do not expect him to be a dynamic chaser of opponents. He has to be a dedicated DM to sit in midfield and spray passes around in a possession based team - there are games where that's useful and games where he will be exposed. For a player we bought to be versatile, that is one thing he isn't. His confidence has been on the floor this season, though, so I still think he's capable of being much better than we've seen.

He's got to be gone in the summer - I don't doubt he could be a decent player in his natural role but we've got obiang, kouyate, noble plus Fernandes and then Oxford could play there. I don't see the point in keeping him especially when he's so woefully inept in other supposed positions he can play, like right back and defence!
